Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC)
Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC) is prepared by introducing ethylene oxide substituent (MS0.3~0.4) into methyl cellulose (MC). Its salt resistance is better than that of unmodified polymer, and the gel temperature of HEMC is also higher than that of MC.
Shape retention: because the highly concentrated aqueous solution of the product has special viscoelastic properties compared with other polymer aqueous solutions, its addition has the ability to improve the shape of extruded ceramic products.
Water retention property: the product has the hydrophilicity and the high viscosity of its aqueous solution, which is a highly effective water retention agent.
Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC) is soluble in water and some organic solvents, and can be dissolved in cold water. Its maximum concentration only depends on viscosity. The solubility changes with viscosity. The lower the viscosity, the greater the solubility. Some products are soluble in binary organic solvents and organic solvent water systems.

Product application: ◆ Cement based plastering mortar: 1. Improve uniformity, make plastering mortar easier to apply, and improve anti vertical flow capacity. Enhance mobility and pumpability to improve work efficiency. 2. It has high water retention, prolongs the working time of mortar, improves the working efficiency, and helps the mortar to form high mechanical strength during the solidification period. 3. Control the air infiltration, so as to eliminate the micro cracks of the coating and form an ideal smooth surface.
◆ Gypsum plastering mortar and gypsum products: 1. Improve the uniformity, make the plastering mortar easier to be coated, and improve the anti vertical flow ability to enhance the fluidity and pumpability, so as to improve the work efficiency. 2. It has high water retention, prolongs the working time of mortar, and produces high mechanical strength during solidification. 3. Hot gel: when the product aqueous solution is heated to a certain temperature, it becomes opaque, and gel forms precipitation, but when it is cooled continuously, it returns to the original solution state. The temperature at which this gel and precipitation occurs mainly depends on their lubricants, suspending aids, protective colloids, emulsifiers, etc.
Metabolism: Metabolize inert and low odor and fragrance. Because they will not be metabolized and low odor and fragrance, they are widely used in food and medicine.
Mold resistance: It has good mold resistance and good viscosity stability during long-term storage.
PH stability: the viscosity of the product aqueous solution is almost not affected by acid or alkali, and the PH value is relatively stable in the range of 3.0-11.0.
Low ash content: since the product is non-ionic, it is effectively refined by washing with hot water during preparation, so its ash content is very low.
